A new year…
I have never been big on making goals for a new year or ever. I believe if you want to start or change anything, do it now. There doesn’t have to be a special day to start. We all know if we rely on the new year being a starting point, we are just procrastinating. We have the opportunity to start our goals or changes any time we want. When I started my weight loss journey two years ago, I just started a random day in July!
With that said, I do have some ideas about what I want to see in this new year. Some I have already started. I thought I would share what I am doing this year to start new and good habits and changes. I want to grow this year.
I don’t like regrets either. I had some hard stuff to deal with in 2016. But I can’t look back and regret or question any of it. I have learned so much from all of it. I am still learning. The best lesson I have learned is God’s plan is bigger than mine. I have learned to not question Him and his plan. I don’t know the plan God has for me in certain parts of my life right now. That’s hard to deal with sometimes. One of my goals this year is to take comfort in His timing and trusting what is happening my life is for something good.
Going off of that, I need to spend more timing studying the Bible. Understanding God and his Word I feel is something I am really lacking in my life. I have knowledge of the Bible. I know the Gospel. I know Bible verses. But I need to spend time digging in deeper. Being prayerful and learning. Soaking up every word… I want to grow. I want to be what God wants me to be. Taking on everything in my life, both good and bad, with strong faith and a grateful heart.
Other things I want to work on…
-Being selfless and serving
-Being the wife God wants me to be. Putting my husband before myself.
-Time management… Being productive
-Less pointless distractions- Possibly trying the “unplugged” weekends.
-Going on adventures with my kids and make memories
-Take more pictures
-Be a more thoughtful friend
-Challenge my body… Bring my workouts to a new level. Try new things
-Try new recipes- Less processed foods
Those are a couple of my thoughts for this new year. There’s plenty more but I want to keep it simple. I just want to grow to be better and to grow closer to God. I won’t beat myself up if I don’t do all or any of these things 100%. I just need to try. Start new habits and prioritize. I want to live well!
I have to give credit to my thoughts and this process to Powersheets from Cultivate What Matters. If you haven’t seen them, they are a great tool to help guide you through a process of making goals and ideas for a year of living well and purposefully. Of course you definitely don’t need these to do any of that. I just wanted to try them this year because I knew I needed something new and a change. Something to help me layout my thoughts and goals. A tool to keep me accountable. Check out the shop HERE
Ok now onto my knit and crochet goals! These are obviously more fun 🙂
I have started a long list on my phone of projects I want to start and ones I need to finish. I noticed the theme is C2C blankets. I LOVE this technique so I can’t wait to make some more designs. I hope to give some blankets to some loved ones that I want to show some love to.
Here’s what’s cooking in my head…
–C2C Coffee Square from Repeat Crafter Me- I hope to make a blanket out of these for someone special!
–C2C Christmas Afghan from Make & Do Crew- I would do this blanket minus the “Merry Christmas” along the bottom
–Zoodiacs C2C Afghan from One Dog Woof
-Finish Hailey’s granny square blanket– I am sad I have not finished this yet! We are talking years now since I started this project
-Finish Jackson’s Knitted Elephant
…For Etsy and the blog…
Patterns to write out…
-Nerdy Emoji C2C Square- Blog
-Knitted Coasters- Blog
-Crocheted Headband with Flower- Etsy
-Woman’s Hat with lots of pictures and details- Etsy
-Design a Valentine’s Hat
I’m sure more projects will pop up! I always get excited once the Etsy shop busyness slows down and I can start doing some other projects and think of more designs. Again I will not beat myself up if I don’t get these all done. I hope to make things to benefit others. Especially the blankets I want to make for some of my loved ones. I do have new designs and things to add to the shop along with blogging more! I am trying to not overdo this so I don’t get overwhelmed.
I’m just excited to see what this new year will bring. I’m trying to not worry or be nervous about certain things.
I want to grow, trust, and be selfless
What do you want 2017 to be like?
