I am excited to try this new knitted hat pattern! I love the texture. I am using one specific yarn just for this hat to show more of the design. More colors to come!
Here’s what I am up to these days in the yarn world…
I’m so excited to be working on some new stuff to add to the shop for fall! I’m also building inventory for a big craft fair I entered in November. I can’t wait to show you some new designs and colors. Everything will be very warm and cozy.
I get so antsy with projects so I find myself starting a bunch of projects at once. Probably not the best strategy. I don’t know why I started two hats at the same time!
These babies came in the mail last week and I can’t wait to knit up some big comfy scarves with them.
What are you guys making on this fine day?
Happy Monday! Today I am knitting a bunch of these beautiful braided headbands. I love the pattern! It works up quick and they’re fun to make. I’m excited to add these to the shop this fall, along with other warm and cozy colors. If you want one of these now, send me a message!
Have a great day friends
I don’t know about you but I sometimes need some good quality time with a good friend. I adore my kids and my husband but some time with a buddy can kind of help recharge your battery. Last week my great friend Katie came for her yearly visit. We had so much fun! It was like we were in high school again, which is where we met. There was a lot of laughing, drinking coffee, eating junk food, more laughing, playing Just Dance, more laughing, and we even got in a couple good workouts! She showed me some yoga and I introduced her to Jillian Michael’s and her body revolution DVDs. I think we decided to both stick to what we love when it comes to exercise.
Katie has always been so good with the kids. Here she is having a deep conversation with my little guy over morning coffee.
This is our tradition every time she visits… My homemade chicken noodle soup and Mountain Dew.
She also gets her special breakfast which is a toad-in-the-hole and coffee.
Here she is in previous years when she would visit 2009/2010
Ok moving on! We made a trip to the mall, which was awesome. And um… even more awesome without kiddos. Katie tried on engagement rings (just for fun, kind of… hint hint Troy!), we drooled over the bags in Coach, we tried on shoes, and just enjoyed walking around a quiet mall on a Tuesday.
Good retail therapy, even if you don’t spend very much! This ended up being her favorite

I might have to add these to my Christmas list
On the last day she was here, we headed out to take some pictures. We are lucky to have these gorgeous falls by us. The weather was also perfect that day!
So after staring at the falls, we took some pictures for my Etsy shop. Katie is an awesome model! This one is very, Senior Picture
Isn’t she purdy??
All items are listed in the Etsy Shop! Head on over if you want to check them out Fountain Top Creations
Of course we can’t take ourselves too seriously…
On the way back we got some tasty bagels then she had to head home. We had so much fun having her here! I can’t wait to have some “Katie Time” again.
Also, don’t forget about the Holiday Gift Guide over on Maggie Whitley’s Blog. There are some great handmade shops featured and some even have discount codes. It’s never too early to start Christmas shopping! I also have a code available for 15% off purchases in my shop. Head over and check out some great items!
I would like you to meet “Friendly” the knitted piggy!
This poor guy waited way too long to be finished. Back in January I posted a picture called “Piggy in Progress” where I had the head and body done. Well last week I finally finished the rest of this little fella. My daughter was very patient with me. She was very excited when it was all done!
Can I just add, I am not very good at sewing on little legs on these animals! I ended up sewing them on too far apart on the piggy. He now almost looks like a penguin sliding down some ice on his belly. But you know what? My daughter loves it so that’s all that matters, right?
Here’s Friendly meeting up with some of his knitted and crocheted buddies.
This piggy was so much fun to make! Next I plan on knitting a little elephant for my son. I need to start a collection of knitted toys for him too.
